The Chelsea office

Serving Chelsea and the communities immediately north of Boston, where many patients do not drive and getting to a Boston hospital campus for a fifteen-minute follow-up is a half-day undertaking.

Consultations, examinations, and follow-up appointments take place here. Where an operation is needed, surgery is performed at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, and your follow-up care returns to Chelsea.

Getting here and parking

On Fourth Street in central Chelsea, close to the Tobin Bridge and reachable by bus and by the Chelsea commuter rail stop.

Work injuries in Chelsea

This is a densely working-class catchment. Food processing, logistics, construction and airport-adjacent work generate most of the injuries seen here. Spanish and Portuguese are widely spoken locally, and Dr. Ackland speaks both.

If you were hurt at work, say so when you call. It changes what we collect from the first visit, and starting the record correctly is considerably easier than correcting it later. Dr. Ackland has treated Massachusetts workers' compensation patients for more than twenty years and is a certified expert examiner for the Department of Industrial Accidents. There is more detail on the workers' compensation page.
