At Ackland Sports Medicine, we specialize in knee and shoulder injuries. We are accepting new patients that have been involved in workers’ compensation accidents. From the initial evaluation, we produce a report which includes: the history of the injury, physical examination, diagnosis and assessment and a plan of treatment. Also included is a causality and disability status of the patient.
Ackland Sports Medicine currently sees patients in the following locations: Brockton, Chelsea, Dedham, Fall River, Lawrence, Woburn, Worcester, and Ogdensburg (NY). When surgery is necessary, it is performed at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, at the New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center in Dedham or at the Eastern Massachusetts Surgical Center in Norwood, MA.
Dr. Ackland has served as a clinical instructor for Yale University. Dr. Ackland is certified as an expert examiner for the Department of Industrial Accidents and is on the Impartial Orthopedic Physician List for the Department of Industrial Accidents of Massachusetts. Our impartial physician will examine the patient, review the medical records submitted by the parties and issue a report. In the report, our doctor will indicate whether a disability exists; what level of disability-total, partial, permanent or temporary and whether the disability has connection to the injury reported at the patient’s employment.
